Comment by schmilblick on T11:48:18-05:00Īnd when does end game begins ? cause 100 hours just to reach it is just too much. If I had to guess, getting to 95 will be a big goal and the last 20 paragon points you get for getting to 100 won't be all that impactful.Īs a last reference point for PoE anyway (haven't played D2 since the changes in the last season), the amount of XP required to go from 98-100 is more than the total XP needed to get to 98 in the first place. The difference between a level 90 and a level 100 is 40 paragon points, but perhaps those last 40 won't matter nearly as much if you can just scoop up powerful nodes prior. If D4 operates remotely close to either of these games it's very likely hitting the late 80s to early 90s won't take that long. Stretch goals for many PoE builds usually hit the 94-96 mark, while builds are generally very operational in the mid 80s (meaning it feels complete). Much like D2, you don't realistically gain much for hitting max level because you've already hit the most impactful nodes along the way. D2 you had to do very certain monsters (at least until recently) to level up.

PoE operates to a similar degree with penalizing you for XP gain at certain thresholds (much like D2) but you can feasibly level if you just do the hardest content in the game. At a certain point there was only several monsters that could get you XP. The reason it took so long to level up in D2 is because there was level thresholds at certain points that made XP gained from monsters go down, and you have to seek out the highest level monsters in the game the closer you got to max level. The skill points you got beyond that were mostly QoL and fluff, with the attributes you gained giving you a marginal stat boost. Most builds in D2 only required lower 80s, and by that point you could equip all items and get every synergy for your main skills 'done'. I don't think this matters as much as people think. It's a lot to ask for so much unique content, but if they're going to make the process that time-consuming, it'd better be at least moderately enjoyable. Comment by Nyloaf on T11:41:03-05:00įor how long they claim the leveling process to be, it'd better not just be endlessly copied and pasted filler content till the end. Yup, more like d2 or poe, where most will finish the season and never hit it.

Reaching level 100 in Diablo 4 will just be 4 more paragon points like every level beyond 50. Unlike Diablo 3, where reaching max level unlocked a new passive, the whole paragon system, certain items and so on. Similar to how Diablo 2 worked - Only a minority of players actually reached max level.

The game doesn't seem to revolve around requiring level 100. That might be acceptable if it was a one time deal, but 150 hours seems a bit much if they want to do seasons, even if you can be a bit faster after getting some game experience
